The Pitons
Soufrière, Saint Lucia
Twin volcanic spires — Gros Piton (770m) and Petit Piton (743m) — rise sheer from the Caribbean Sea on Saint Lucias southwest coast. These eroded volcanic plugs are remnants of a collapsed stratovolcano, their contour lines compressing from coral reef to cloud forest in less than a kilometer. A UNESCO World Heritage Site where geology meets tropical paradise.
