A map drawn only with contour lines. Each line joins points of the same height, so the pattern shows the shape of the land. We make them from public elevation data for the place you choose.

Lines close together mean steep ground. Lines far apart mean gentle ground. If you walked along one line you would stay at the same height.

Mapzen Terrain Tiles on AWS Open Data, which combine USGS 3DEP (United States), SRTM and GMTED2010 (worldwide), EU-DEM (Europe), national lidar models in several countries and ETOPO1 (sea floor). Detail depends on the region and on the size of the area. Full credits are on the About page.

Search for a place, set the area, pick a layout and palette, then choose a product and size. Payment is through Stripe.

Places in the US, including Alaska and Hawaii, and much of Europe. Islands outside mainland Europe, such as the Canaries, Madeira and the Azores, aren't covered yet. Places with big height differences give dense patterns; flat places give few lines.

Yes. Pick one of 4 print palettes (Gallery, Alpine, Charcoal and Midnight) and see it on your map straight away. You can also set the contour detail (Fine, Medium or Bold), a square or circle shape, and add roads and trails (and rivers, lakes and coastlines where we have the data).

Fine art prints: giclée with archival pigment inks on Hahnemühle Photo Rag, 308 gsm, 100% cotton rag, matte. They ship rolled in a tube. Framed prints: 200 gsm archival matte paper in a solid wood frame with acrylic glazing. They ship boxed, ready to hang. Wood prints: printed directly on 1/2" maple, natural finish, with a keyhole hanger. They ship boxed.

Each print is made in 1-4 business days (wood prints in about 3), then ships free with tracking. Delivery takes 4-6 business days after shipping.

We ship to the US and most of the EU. Wood prints ship within the US only.

Every print is made to order, so we can't accept returns for change of mind. If your print arrives damaged, defective, or misprinted, we'll replace it free: email us within 30 days of delivery with a photo.
